Goosebowl Mixed Ultimate Tournament was established in 1993
It was a dark October evening in 1993 when members of the fledgeling Queen’s Mothership Varsity team were heading to reunite with their teammates after a night of indulgence.
On the journey Andor spotted a large bird in the shadows and could tell that the mighty goose must be freed from his incarnation as a lawn ornament.
The details are hazy, but one way or another the bird took flight, as did the members of the Ship. A few weeks later the first ever Goosebowl was held on Halloween weekend with 6 teams vying for the honour of taking home the goose.
Since its inception, Goosebowl has had the reputation of being an extremely memorable weekend for its players. Because of its lighthearted nature and in recognition of being on Halloween weekend, every team wears a group costume to play in on Saturday and Sunday. Hosted in collaboration between the Kingston and Queen's Ultimate clubs, Goosebowl continues to be a success after 22 years. We all can't wait to see you there!
